Traceability of Chinese Green Tea

Judging from the written history, Mengding Mountain is the earliest place in Chinese history where there are written records of artificial tea planting. From the earliest records of tea in the world, Wang Bao’s “Tong Yue” and Wu Lizhen’s legend of planting tea trees in Mengshan, it can be proved that Mengding Mountain in Sichuan is the origin of tea planting and tea manufacturing. Green tea originated in Badi (now northern Sichuan and southern Shaanxi). According to the records of “Huayang Guozhi-Bazhi”, when the Zhou Wuwang defeated Zhou, the Ba people offered tea to the army of Zhou Wuwang. “Huayang Guozhi” is a letter of history, and it can be determined that no later than the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Ba people in northern Sichuan (Seven Buddha tribute tea) began to cultivate tea artificially in the garden.

Green tea is one of the main teas in China.

Green tea is made from the new leaves or buds of the tea tree, without fermentation, through processes such as fixation, shaping, and drying. It retains the natural substances of the fresh leaves and contains tea polyphenols, catechins, chlorophyll, caffeine, amino acids, Vitamins and other nutrients. The green color and tea soup preserve the green style of fresh tea leaves, hence the name.

Drinking green tea regularly can prevent cancer, lower fat and lose weight, and reduce the nicotine damage to smokers.

China produces green tea in a wide range of places, including Henan, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hunan, Hubei, Guangxi, and Fujian.
